“You have to be healthy to succeed. I was finally able to get my mileage up (over the summer) to where I could be competitive at state. I feel like I've reached that point.”
“There's always something about this course. We're always a couple minutes late or someone gets a cramp or my shoe comes untied, something always happens.”
“I ran pretty close to what I did Saturday at Granite City. Jeff (Schirmer) stayed with me a lot of this race. I have to give him his props for doing that.”
“I knew we were going to have a pretty good defense. But I didn't know it was going to be this good. And I think it's really kind of shocked everybody, how well we're clicking right now.”
“The defensive linemen that we have, they're really good. They're the reason that our linebackers are doing so well this year. They've been keeping the linemen off of us, so I have to give credit to them.”
“I think now that we're starting to show people what we can do, what we're capable of, they're starting to respect us. So that gives everybody a lot more pride to be on this team.”
